When it comes to engine options for the 2017 Toyota Highlander, there are a few choices. The base LE comes with a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 185 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. It comes paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and is front-wheel drive. For the other trims, the standard engine is a 3.5-liter V6 that delivers 295 hp and 263 lb-ft of torque. This engine is optional for the LE, comes paired with an eight speed automatic, and drivers can choose all-wheel drive as an option.
