The new Highlander has a roomy cabin with three rows of seats that can fit 7 to 8 passengers. This would depend on the model and the configuration of the second-row captain’s chairs. The three-zone automatic climate control keeps everyone comfortable wherever they’re seated.
The LE is upholstered with fabric-trimmed seats, while the XLE has SofTex®-trimmed seats. The XSE gets a sporty look with the available red and black leather trim with red accent stitching. Both the Limited and the Platinum models get sleek leather-trimmed seats in earthy colors.
The 2024 Highlander has a cargo volume of 16 cubic feet that can extend to 48.4 cubic feet when the third-row seats fold down. For larger cargo, the Highlander can accommodate a maximum cargo capacity of 84.3 cubic feet behind the front row seats.

The 2024 Toyota Highlander features a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine. Drivers can expect 265 horsepower and up to 310 pound-feet of torque out of this midsize SUV. All that power also delivers a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. The trailer-sway control aids in handling all that weight as well.
All Highlander trims have a front-wheel drive drivetrain. The LE and XLE trims can switch to an all-wheel drive, while the XSE, Limited, and Platinum models have the option for the dynamic torque vectoring all-wheel drive. Both drivetrains connect to an 8-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission.
The XSE, in particular, has a sport-tuned suspension, retuned shock absorbers, high-rate springs, and a rear stabilizer bar for enhanced and dynamic handling.
The Highlander has four drive modes: Sport, Eco, Normal, and Snow. The XLE and higher trims also have Multi-Terrain Select with mud and sand, rock and dirt, and normal modes for better traction.
